Improv Club
Join us for our monthly Improv Club for an opportunity to make new friends and explore the world of improv through fun, cooperative games and exercises guaranteed to promote laughter and creativity. No experience is necessary to attend, and advanced improvisers are welcome to come and “get some reps” in as well!
The Improv Club meets monthly in the Granville Center for the Arts gallery. This club is free, open to all ages and experience levels, and includes complimentary drinks.
About the Host/Teacher:
Ali Rafter is a multi-award-winning actress, a graduate of UCLA's School of Theatre, Film, and Television, and the founding director of Improv School Redlands, located in Southern California. She has been doing improv for over three decades and has trained with The Groundlings, Impro Los Angeles, The Nest, as well as performing with the hilarious comedy improv team, "Tastes Like Burning." She has produced two completely original comedy sketch shows as well as dozens of other plays, concerts, and stand-up events. Ali is committed to creating safe spaces for people of all ages to engage in creative expression and loves to witness the joy, growth, and healing that improv can spark.

Irish Music Club
Our Irish Music Club meets on the first Wednesday of the month, starting at 6 p.m. Under the expert guidance of Leah Bernini Cronin, a virtuoso Irish fiddle player, and distinguished ethnomusicologist, each session kicks off with an engaging learning segment, where members are introduced to a variety of traditional tunes. Following this, the atmosphere buzzes with energy as the club opens up for a grand jam session, embracing the rich tapestry of Irish, Celtic, and North Atlantic musical traditions.
All ages and skill levels are encouraged. Bring along your favorite instrument(s), a recording device, and an adventurous spirit. This is more than just a club; it’s a community, a celebration, and an unmissable rendezvous for the musically curious and the aficionados alike.

Creative Writing Club
A writer is someone who writes! Join the Granville Center for the Arts Creative Writing Club and carve out quality time for your writing practice. Guided by Keija Parssinen, a creative writing professor and local author, this club is a haven for writers of all ages and skill levels. At the monthly meeting, writers can choose to write to a given prompt or continue a work-in-progress. These will primarily be generative sessions, with an opportunity for optional sharing and constructive feedback at the end.
Creative Writing Club is a free drop-in club for all ages and skill levels. Don't wait for inspiration to find you; join us and make the time to cultivate your talent and love for writing.

Poetry Open Mic Night
Join us at The Granville Center for the Arts for our highly anticipated Monthly Poetry Open Mic Night. Get ready to be captivated by an unforgettable evening of spoken word magic, expertly guided by our extraordinary host, the one and only Jared Mutchler.

Each month, we present a special poetry theme prompt to help inspire you to write. We'll have a special gift for those who write a bonus poem and share it with the group!
February's poetry prompt is "First Kiss." Poets are encouraged to capture the essence of a first kiss, exploring the mix of emotions, anticipation, and the unforgettable moment of a first romantic encounter. Be it sweet, awkward, or life-changing, let your words paint this universal experience.

From 6:00 to 6:30 pm, sign-ups will be open on a first-come, first-served basis for all aspiring poets, and poetry readings will commence at 6:30 pm. Seasoned wordsmiths and beginners are invited to share original compositions or read from the classics.
Drinks and snacks will be provided. All ages are welcome.

The Front Porch Guild

The Front Porch Guild is the newest addition to the Granville arts scene! The gallery is shared by three brilliant artists, Meredith Martin, Spencer Pearson, and Eric Mize. The gallery is open on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. The Front Porch Guild is only a two-minute walk from the Art Center (124 S Main St Unit B, Granville, OH 43023).
