Zine-Making Workshop
Zines have chronicled diverse cultures—from the Harlem Renaissance to mid-century sci-fi and the vibrant queer and punk scenes—serving as a canvas for writers, artists, and cultural enthusiasts. This DIY medium celebrates expression, community, and the simple joy of creating with just paper, a writing tool, and passion.
Join us for a creative whirlwind of zine-making at the Granville Center for the Arts, hosted by the renowned zinemaker, Ty J. Williams (he/they). This workshop is a vibrant confluence of ideas, physical materials, and our passions for making zines! We provide all the necessary supplies, but you can bring your own printed/paper materials and textiles to create your unique creations. We will use collage techniques and some punk/DIY design aesthetics to put together your own niche publication that you can keep as a one-off or copy for distribution to your adoring public!
All ages and skill levels are welcome.
Special thanks to the Granville Arts Commission for supporting this event!
